The University of Central Asia (UCA) and The Foundation for Better Life (FBL) have officially signed a Terms of Reference (ToR) agreement to collaborate on the Accelerating Women’s Access to the Knowledge Economy (AWAKE) project. The signing ceremony took place at the FBL office in Kabul, in the presence of representatives from both organizations: Jamaluddin Azimi, director of FBL; Rahman Nazar Farhad, country director of UCA in Afghanistan; and Jalal Sultan, the Chairman of FBL.
The AWAKE project is a three-year initiative designed to empower Afghan women by enhancing their access to economic opportunities through digital skills training. The collaboration between UCA and FBL will focus on inclusive recruitment of women participants across three target groups:
- Marginalized and underprivileged women and men.
- Women entrepreneurs and small business owners.
- High-skilled women professionals.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Chairman of FBL emphasized the importance of this partnership in advancing women’s empowerment and fostering equitable access to the knowledge economy. Representatives from both organizations reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring transparency, inclusivity, and effectiveness in recruitment efforts.
Through this collaboration, UCA and FBL aim to achieve recruitment targets across multiple regions, strengthen institutional cooperation, and provide Afghan women with the tools and skills needed to thrive in the digital economy.
